Purple Cows

We happily wrapped up dryland season with an obstacle course.  It was a tough battle between Dylan and Victor but Vic just snuck out the win.

Sarah and Megan had a slightly less fierce rivalry.

Then we headed to Colorado!  Zach was very pleased to be on snow with the team!

Ski Team Alumn, Alex joined the team again to help inspire speed for early season training in Colorado.

Back at it and it is great to get on snow.

We had some early morning lanes.  Pretty cool to see the sun rise over the course.

We had a small crew head up to Whiteface for some GS last weekend.  There was some very strong skiing from the Ephs.  One more camp to go and then we are ready to hit the circuit.

Looking great, Sarah and Gabby!

Physical Testing

We are wrapping up the fall dryland training period this week with the last round of physical testing. Kelsey and I are both super proud to see how hard the kids have been working this fall, and how much progress they have made on their strength and fitness.

We're excited to move on to the next phase of the season: SKIING! And we can't wait to see what the athletes are able to do with their gains when they get on snow.

Here's some slo-mo video of the Box Jumps test:

Season is Underway!

It has been great practicing with the team.  The new class brings a lot of energy and fits in great with the rest of the team.  It is hard to believe we will be in gates before too long!

A few of us took a trip to Killington last weekend for some amazing people watching and to get a few turns under our belts.

And of course, you can never be too serious at hockey practice.

Welcome Back to School!

It's great to see everyone back on campus.  We had our first team meeting of the season last week and were able to get (almost) the entire team together for a photo. Pretty handsome crew.

NCAA Photos 2014

I recently just received some awesome photos from NCAAs. Shannon had two really fast races. It was quite a while ago now but better put up the results for the official record. Shannon finished 16th place in the GS and 15th in the slalom, from bib 20 both days. Smokin' skiing! Hats off to you lady. Here are the pics -

Middlebury

We had quite the weekend at Middlebury this past weekend.  The slalom was warm and quite soft.  Throughout the day, the wind picked up.  There were points when there were just ice drops flying around.

At lunch time, the whole field got to watch Mikaela claim Gold at the Olympics - quite amazing and very cool.  That was fun to see with the entire EISA circuit.

The men did great.  Christoph put down a 13, Carson backed him up with a 27.  Kendall was 33, a season best for him!  Dylan was a solid 35.  Victor was about 17 after first run but ran into some technical difficulties second run when a gate came out of the snow - it bested him.

The women's race was cut short when lightening and thunder took over the hill.  Water was coming down in walls.  I've never seen a hill clear so quickly.  Quite a number of athletes were stuck on the chairlift, which had short circuited or something.  Our very own Gabby, Jocelyn and Paige were stuck.  But everyone made it down safety.  But alas, the show could not go on and it became a one run race...

The GS gave us a break with warm weather and sunshine.  The team soaked it up and put some very good races on the hill.  Victor laid down a 16th.  Christoph skied into 32 and Dylan was 39th.

Shannon stepped up her Middlebury game and came in 5th, with Sarah chomping at her heels in 14th place.  Gabby skied a season best with 33rd.  Very nice.

It has been a very memorable and great season.  Great results have been scattered throughout the year.

Kendall, our last one out the gate second run of the GS, turned around before he went and looked at our head coach, "This one's for you, ED!"

Thank you for a great season, team - and of course thanks so much to ED!!!

Headed to Utah with Shannon next week -

Wake up, Vic!
