Middlebury

We had quite the weekend at Middlebury this past weekend.  The slalom was warm and quite soft.  Throughout the day, the wind picked up.  There were points when there were just ice drops flying around.

At lunch time, the whole field got to watch Mikaela claim Gold at the Olympics - quite amazing and very cool.  That was fun to see with the entire EISA circuit.

The men did great.  Christoph put down a 13, Carson backed him up with a 27.  Kendall was 33, a season best for him!  Dylan was a solid 35.  Victor was about 17 after first run but ran into some technical difficulties second run when a gate came out of the snow - it bested him.

The women's race was cut short when lightening and thunder took over the hill.  Water was coming down in walls.  I've never seen a hill clear so quickly.  Quite a number of athletes were stuck on the chairlift, which had short circuited or something.  Our very own Gabby, Jocelyn and Paige were stuck.  But everyone made it down safety.  But alas, the show could not go on and it became a one run race...

The GS gave us a break with warm weather and sunshine.  The team soaked it up and put some very good races on the hill.  Victor laid down a 16th.  Christoph skied into 32 and Dylan was 39th.

Shannon stepped up her Middlebury game and came in 5th, with Sarah chomping at her heels in 14th place.  Gabby skied a season best with 33rd.  Very nice.

It has been a very memorable and great season.  Great results have been scattered throughout the year.

Kendall, our last one out the gate second run of the GS, turned around before he went and looked at our head coach, "This one's for you, ED!"

Thank you for a great season, team - and of course thanks so much to ED!!!

Headed to Utah with Shannon next week -
